What are GAEA's primary responsibilities?
Negotiate and enforce the contract
Provide the best education we can for the Greater Albany students
Represent the membership in all matters related to their professional work
Advocate for racial, social and economic justice
Promote the growth and respect for our profession
Work with the community and partners to ensure our schools are the best they can be
Promote the strengthening of public education
How does GAEA communicate with me?
Once you sign your membership, you will be added to our mailing list for all updates and notifications. These will be sent to your personal email.
Your building rep will also keep you updated through out the year with important changes and information.
Your building rep will hold a 10 minute meeting once a month following the Govern Council meeting.
As a member, you are welcome to join any Govern Council meeting as a participant.

What does your local union accomplish with your dues?
Your union dollars support all members with the negotiation of our collective bargaining agreement (your contract), the advocacy of your employee rights and good working conditions, 4 scholarship recipients each year, student/classroom support, and the representation of each member's voice.
